About David's Place
Our History
Our provision was born out of a deeply personal experience and a profound desire to create something better. As parents of a son with Autism, we navigated the care system first hand, only to be met with disappointment. The poor quality of care, lack of compassion, and substandard living conditions in many services made it clear to us that there was a need for change.
Our journey began when we sought suitable care and accommodation for our son, only to find that many existing services failed to meet the basic standards we believed every individual deserved. We experienced the frustration of seeing our son’s potential overlooked, his needs unmet, and his individuality disregarded.
Driven by our personal connection and commitment, we decided to build a service that truly prioritizes the well-being, dignity, and independence of adults with Autism and Learning Difficulties. Our goal was to ensure that no other family would have to endure the challenges we faced, and that individuals like our son would be treated with the respect, understanding, and care they deserve.
Our service is a reflection of our unwavering belief that every individual has the right to live a fulfilling and independent life in a safe and supportive environment - we're proud of the difference we are making What began as a personal mission has blossomed into a community-driven service, guided by our own experience and a passion for improving the lives of others.
